Affordable Venice

Affordable Venice
Central Venice can be very expensive for accommodation. When you find something affordable you also need to be careful.
I received an email from this website "Budget places" recently and only now got around to lookin at some of the options they have in Venice.
(It's a bit of a test case for this website).
I found their site easy to use and particularly for Venice where lots of the affordable accommodation is miles away from where you really want to be, the ability to view your hotel's location on a map was very useful. There are also reviews from real travellers on the website also which is helpful in deciding if the hotel is somewhere that you would stay.
A few hotels that looked nice and affordable. (I used 16th Sept 2009 for 1 night for my test)
Most of those in Venezia are more expensive than those in Mestre (mainland)
Hotel Primavera 2* €62.26 / night for 2 people including breakfast (Mestre)
Hotel Zecchini 2* €86.46 / night for 2 people including breakfast (Venezia)
Hotel Moderna 2* €66.30/ night for 2 people including breakfast (Venezia)

Stay 2 Nights Pay for 1 at IC Hotels

Intercontinental Hotels which includes Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands have an offer running where you book two nights accommodation for the price of 1 night. Not currently available for Irish or U.S. hotels but it works for many U.K. and European Hotels.
Note: You must book for 2 nights at a time. If you want to stay for 4 nights, book the first two nights and then book the second two nights under separate bookings. This works for any combination of multiples of 2 nights.
Recently stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Antrim on a rate of £39 per night for 2 nights.
The price shown per night when you use the link below is the price per night - at approx 50% of the normal price. Sometimes the price appears a little higher than 50% but is still excellent value when you can get this deal when and where you need it.
